I have over 20 years of teaching experience and have worked as a leader in six schools, three as Headteacher. I have worked in a range of schools, from outstanding to special measures, and I have been successful in all of them. I have raised attainment and progress measures in every school I have worked in, and understand the importance of placing the school at the heart of the community that it serves. My ethos is built around every child as an individual, and helping them to be the best they can be. The schools I have led provide academic excellence, access to a broad and engaging curriculum, and made memories that the children will have forever. Working with children is the most rewarding job in the world, and seeing pupils and teachers alike fulfilling their potential is why I do my job.
Area of expertise
Overall I believe my strengths lie in improving teaching and learning, building sustainable improvement and communicating with, motivating and inspiring people. I have formed a clear vision of what principles underpin an effective school and can provide a pathway to achieve that aim.

Key Achievements
While Headteacher I began work at a primary school in September 2015 with the school in Special Measures and bottom of the Wolverhampton league tables. Phonics and EYFS scores were in the bottom 10% of the country and the school had received two consecutive Special Measures judgements. Four different leadership teams had tried to improve the school without success. In March 2016, Ofsted stated “the transformation is stark” and the significant improvements in every aspect of the school were detailed. The school was subsequently judged to be good.
In January 2017 my new role was at a school that had performance data in the bottom 10% of the country and had concerns for leadership, behaviour, and the personal development of all pupils. In two years, the children at EXS in KS2 combined went from 36% to 73% and similar improvements were seen across the school in data, behaviour, attitudes and curriculum.
The raising of standards through quality and engaging teaching underpins everything that I believe in. Foremost is high expectation of pupils behaviour and attainment, combined with a consistent drive to raise the standards, resilience and self-esteem of the children.
