I have a sincere passion for working with schools, through an appreciation of their unique context and challenges, in order to support leaders and staff in bringing about tangible improvements. I believe that teaching should be adaptive and responsive so that each and every pupil can experience success. I also feel that some of our most valuable work as educators is in fostering a genuine appetite for lifelong learning through enjoyment and curiosity.
Area of expertise
I work with primary and secondary schools as well as AP/PRUs. Specialisms include: self-evaluation and improvement planning; monitoring /developing teaching and learning; supporting developing middle leaders; performance management and appraisal, including headteacher appraisal.
Professional Experience
Experienced school development adviser; External examiner for various teacher training providers; Chair of Governors; Quality and Inspection consultant for the DfE; Associate Headteacher; former HMI/inspector of schools and teacher training providers over a 13 year period; PGCE course leader at Manchester Metropolitan University; Teacher/faculty leader.
